Lockdown is the worst thing to happen to any country… Not much income due to being Furloughed, possible loss of jobs and the amount of people that has claimed universal credit has sky rocketed. Currently the government are paying for 80% of some peoples wages and after lockdown some people won’t have a job to go back to when everything blows over. Some reports say that young people are more likely to lose their jobs than young people. Due to this virus of course.
More than one in three 18-24 year old’s are earning less money before this outbreak. It’s said that young workers are at risk of there pay being effected for years. This could be the worst time to have a job as a young person due to this outbreak causing this much problems. Alongside this, the number of people in the UK claiming and receiving unemployment benefits has rocketed up since last month. The figure show that the numbers went up by 856,500 this month alone and went to 2.097 million in April. These figures were from the Office of National Statistics (ONS).
The figures in the UK are slowly going down, the lowest number of infected people happened yesterday and the lowest number of deaths as well. The UK is slowly improving and lockdown is getting eased every week, however the UK need to be careful so the second spike doesn’t happen!
