In the UK, coronavirus is currently slowing down but slowly, more than 10,000 people are still testing positive for Covid-19 and they will continue to rise if the UK doesn’t slow down on what is opening up and what is staying closed. Pupils are at risk due to them having to go to school and possibly infecting more pupils within that one school, however, there has been some news on the virus affecting schools across the UK!

Pupils in hotspot areas are urged to get tested for coronavirus as this could stop the spread from getting worse and worse in the UK and throughout certain schools. Places like London, Kent, and Essex are getting ready to do a mass testing scheme that should see if more people in those places have Covid-19 than not.

“I urge every student, parent and teacher in these areas to step forward for testing – irrespective of whether they have symptoms. While Covid-19 may be lower risk to children and young people, it still poses a significant risk to their families and communities.” said the Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

Coronavirus cases have increased massively in certain areas of the UK in 11 to 18-year-olds due to them being out and everywhere the longest and with Covid-19 being so infectious, they are bringing that into schools and bring it home to those who could be at more risk of dying to the virus. After the virus is long gone… there is set to be a plan to sort the UK out and restart.
