King Charles III is now on the new coins that will be around in some time, however there is already one coin that has been released and this is the brand new 50p!
The new 50p has been designed to celebrate the King and commemorate his mother, Queen Elizabeth the II.
The new 50p has not been fully released however, the 50p coin still has to be struck at The Royal Mint in Llantrisant, Wales. This new 50p will be in tills, wallets and more in December.
Sculptor Martin Jennings said that this took months of painstaking work to get the right image.

“It has to be an exact portrait but also that says something about the lasting values of the institution he represents, in subtle and tiny ways, you can put these things across.” Mr Jennings Said.
This is the first coin that has been seen by the public and will be out in December 2022 and more will be released the following year as time goes on. The deadline for people using coins without the Kings face on it is coming to an end!
