
The crackdown on anyone who disagrees with incumbent Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro continues unabated with the arrest of German Journalist Billy Six. Although details regarding the charges are sketchy, relating to espionage and rebellion, what is clear is that he is being held in the infamous Helicoide prison and that Diplomatic officials have apparently not been allowed to see him. He was allegedly reporting on the Human rights violations and mass exodus caused by hyperinflation and food shortages, something the government don’t want publicising.
