Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s restaurant chain which includes Jamie’s Italian chain, Barbecoa and Fifteen, is the latest victim of the tough trading environment on the UK High Street collapsing into administration. 22 of the 25 outlets have already closed and the remaining three are only likely to be trading for a short time before they are closed also.  KPMG are administrators and the closure is likely to see over 1000 jobs go.

The group which was founded back in 2008 expanded rapidly in the last few years and although predominantly London based (10 Restaurants) there were outlets in a number of major cities and two in Scotland. Thisis the latest of a number of high profile insolvencies on the high street and is unlikely to be the last.
