A holiday cruise ship has now docked in Sydney, Australia which believes that have over 800 cases of Covid-19.

This cruise ship docked and arrived at the circular Quay, having sailed from New Zealand.

There is around 4,600 passengers on board the Majestic Princess, which means that there could be a one in five chance of someone having Covid-19.

The outbreak is seemingly the same as what happened on the Ruby Princess cruise ship during the 2020 outbreak of Covid-19.

All cases were either asymptomatic or mild which is great to hear.

Staff would be assisting all guests who have tested positive “with accessing private transport and accommodation to complete their isolation period”, she said. The ship will soon depart for Melbourne.

Asked about comparisons between the Majestic Princess and the Ruby Princess – which also belongs to the same operator – Ms Fitzgerald said: “Since then, we as a community have learnt a lot, a lot more about Covid.” Stated the BBC

The outbreak comes as Covid-19 cases continue to rise across the whole of Australia. This will also increase due to this ship being docked.

In New South Wales, there is a reported 19,800 new cases that were detected recently.
