
Emergency services have been trying to rescue dozens of passengers who are onboard a boat which is on fire near Santa Cruz Island, California. There is at least 30 people trapped on the burning boat there is currently no confirmed fatalities.
Coast guard and the fire personnels are rushing to assist people on the boat. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department tweeted Monday morning (local time) that five people have been rescued and 34 are missing.

Coast guard senior official Aaron Bemis said there was 39 people on the boat, there was 5 crew members and 34 passengers who were below deck. Some crew members have been rescued.
“It’s a large boat, and we know we have numerous fatalities. I don’t have an exact number,” a spokesperson for Ventura County told CNN.
