A body has been found by emergency services who were searching for six-year-old Lucas Dobson. Kent Police said the body has not been formally identified but Lucas’ family have been informed.

Today was the fifth day searching took place for the young boy who fell into a river in Kent. Hundreds of volunteers have helped to try and find Lucas. Police have recruited specialist rescuers with sonar equipment to examine the river and surrounding areas.
On Saturday, Lucas Dobson slipped into the River Stour between a boat and jetty while fishing in Sandwich, Kent.
On Tuesday Ch Insp Mark Weller said: “The focus now is within the river area, which is obviously a very dangerous environment, hence our request to the public to stay away for the time being, to allow those experts who have the relevant kit, experience and training to conduct those searches.”
