US mid-term elections are underway and control of the Senate is up for grabs as Donald Trump remains a somewhat polarising President. They take place every four years in November and are so-called because they take place in the middle of the president’s four-year term of office.
Right now the Republicans hold both the Senate and the House of Representatives and support President Trump, however, this is quite tenuous with all 435 seats in the House up for grabs. Many are pretty much cut and dried however commentators think that 48 are in a state of flux and the vast majority of these are currently Republican seats The Democrats need a swing of 23 to take control.
