Germany was deemed safe until a massive spike caused the cases to shoot back up. The vaccine has been in development since the beginning of the year, however, now the world could go back to normal… If this works.
The new Covid-19 vaccine that protects the human body from Covid-19 has been said to nearly be 95% effective. This could stop the pandemic from getting worse and worse but if it only works 95% of the time, this could mean the pandemic could still be here for some of us.
For the modern age, this vaccine needs to be 100% effective to stop another deadly virus from coming into the world. The way the world gets it is different, however.
The way we get this vaccine depends on where you are in the world and how old you are, meaning that if your young and able to survive the virus without a vaccine, the likelihood of you getting the virus is very slim. If you are older than a certain age or have healthcare issues, then the likelihood of you getting a vaccine will be very high, as you will have a high chance of going into the ICU.
It is said that the UK is in talks to get the vaccine from Moderna, the company that created the vaccine, however, the vaccine may not be out until Spring next year.
