Runs have been scarce through two games at the Coliseum. So when Orioles second baseman Jonathan Schoop advanced to third base with one out in the sixth inning Tuesday night, it appeared to be a pivotal moment to manufacture Baltimore’s second run of the game. A’s reliever Liam Hendriks didn’t relent, however, stranding Schoop at third, and Oakland pitching silenced the Orioles from that point on, holding them to just three hits in a 2-1 win, their second in a row.
