
The Los Angeles Angels main slugger Albert Pujols became the 3rd player to reach 2000 Runners Batted In (RBI) in some style as his solo home run in the top of the third inning helped them to a 13-0 win at Detroit.

The home run which was a projected 415 feet blast, according to Statcast was the 639th of his career, leaving him 21 behind the legend Willie Mays for fifth all time. The other two players to reach 2000 RBIs are Hank Aaron who finished with 2,297 and Alex Rodriguez who had 2,086.
At 39 his career is in its twilight, but he has a great chance of adding to his tally and A-Rods total is within sight.

This is Albert Pujols 19th season in the MLB having begun his career with the St Louis Cardinals back in 2001 before moving to the Angels in 2012.
