Currently in PTR on Overwatch they are enforcing role queuing so you team matching will be made fairer and not as many people on the team with the same role. So the idea behind it in a competitive state is that every team will run 2,2,2. so far we know that we know we will have to do 15 placements, 5 for each role and will be given different rank for each role.
The way in which this system will work is that before you queue in comp you will select a role and with that you should enter a game with two tanks, two supports and two dps on your team. This is to help have more team balance and before every match you will get to pick a role. Each role will also have their own skill rating and for now with the new queue role this is no decay.
So this is a big change for the way people used to play competitive this will launch round about September time as far as everyone knowns.
