12 trends everyone will be wearing by the end of the year, according to AW19 fashion week

Whilst we are going into spring and the nights become lighter, the fashion world is one step ahead of us all as usual. This past week or two there was been the  fashion shows for AW19. The world’s biggest brands, designers, models, fashion editors and influencers are currently on the third global leg of seasonal catwalks, taking to Milan to showcase their designs for autumn/winter.

Oversized hats, sensible shorts and tight pleats may have took over the last runways for spring/summer but by the end of the year the runways look like we will all be looking extra…

There is everything from over the top prints to blinding sparkles, fancy puffers and lots of ruffles.

Here is what wason the runway…

OTT FLORALS

Florals always seem to be on  trend but in AW they will be extra than ever. With full floral looks including face masks it is considered an entirely wearable option. We will be seeing more muted base colours with bright, decorative petals splashed across. It was spotted at Marc Jacobs, Richard Quinn and Erdem.

GIANT BAGS

After a season of small, tiny totes that our phones could hardly fit in this autumn winter big bags will be the THING. It was spotted at Proenza Schouler and Rejina Pyo.

CHECKS ON CHECKS

Last season was all about polka dots and stripes but AW will be bold checks which can be wearable. The checks will be played into many colours and pieces to become new and modern. It was spotted at A.W.A.K.E and Ashley Williams.

TIERED RUFFLES

Next season one low-key ruffle will not be enough they will be going full out and look at the 1920s lampshade for evening wear. It was spotted at Molly Goddard and Erdem.

WAIST BELTS

Belts will never be out of fashion, they were popular with Gucci and the double circle River Island belt. Waist belts are the thing this year and will be wrapped around any clothing such as knits and coats.  It was spotted at Prabal Gurung and Tibi.

BROWN LEATHER COATS

Brown leather coats were everywhere at fashion week, brown is taking over coat aisle with a luxe leather material and in midi length. It was spotted at Rejina Pyo and Jonathan Cohen.

POINTED TOES

AW will be focusing purely on pointed shoes, they were around in AW18 but were not a trend. This AW19 they will be a big trend. They were spotted at Brock Collection, Huishan Zhang and Toga.

ARGYLE KNITS

nce the uniform of middle-aged golfers, argyle knitwear has had its highs and lows in the fashion world. According to this season’s most popular runways, it’s officially back in favour. Strictly only on jumpers and cardigans. It was seen at Molly Goddard, Victoria Beckham and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.

OTT FEATHERING

If sequins are not your thing why not try feathering. They were seen on the runway as a coat, top and dress. It is expected to takeover all the fur coats we saw in 2018. It was spotted at Prabal Gurung, Oscar de la Renta and Mary Katrantzou.

SPARKLE

It is no surprise that the party season will be full of sparkle but this year it will be extra. From draped dresses to fringing we will see it all. So prepare for the Christmas party dresses as they will not be missed. Sparkles were taking centre stage at Halpern, Molly Goddard and 16Arlington.
