2018 was the year for glitter and glossy eyes but this year say hello to metallics and foils.
Ever since Jeremy Scott’s New York fashion show late 2018, when the models featured foil lips, there has been a move from everything glitter to smoother metallics and mirror shine finishes. Not only is it pretty but it is a lot easier to clean up the aftermath without glitter ending up all over your face.

The lips are not the only thing that are becoming a trend it is also the gold metallic liquid shadows that have been hitting the fashion shows, red carpets and all over Instagram.
If you have not seen our latest Huda Beauty post, you may not know that she has released matte & metal shadows that fit perfectly into this trend. They are said to make your makeup go from a 10 to 100 in one swipe. It is an easier and cleaner way to jump on this 2019 trend and everyone can do it. Alternatively, Stila have extended the liquid shadow range with many new colours to make your makeup daring.
Metallic eyes are great to participate in a trend as it is versatile and can be as intense or low key as you please. You can even add them to your eye makeup look to make it more perfect. If you have an eyeshadow which you want to be metallic all you do is pick some of the shadow on your brush and spray the product on the brush with setting spray and add to the eyes. This will instantly make your shimmer, satin or any lid colour metallic plus it helps to glide the eyeshadow on easier (you can even cut the crease with the shadow using this technique) or simply just wet the brush before you pick up the colour you want to use.
If you are not ready to let go of the glossy lids you can combine with metallics to create glossy-metallic eye look. Just apply you shadows and metallic shadows with a brush then when you are happy just your finger to apply a thin layer of lid gloss this will create your glossy-metallic look.
