Cream foundations.
Cream foundations are usually oil-based and blend easily on applications. Cream foundations give a heavy coverage and the skin types that are best for:
- Dry skin
- Normal skin
- Mature skin
Liquid foundations.
Liquid foundations can be oil, water or mineral based. They can provide light to medium coverage and could be built up to full coverage.
Liquid oil-based foundations are best for the following skin types:
- Dry skin
- Normal skin
- Mature skin
- Combination skin (only if you apply in dry areas)
Liquid water-based foundations are best for the following skin types:
- Normal skin
- Oily skin
- Combination skin
Mineral liquid foundations contain natural light-reflecting properties of micro-minerals. It provides light to medium coverage with skin enhancing properties, this is best for all skin types.
Mineral powder foundations contain micro-minerals in a solid powder with a binding ingredient such as algae. This is again is good for all skin types.
Gel foundations provide sheer, oil-free, non-greasy coverage and a matte finish. They are great for any skin type.
Compact skin or cake foundation may have an oil, wax or powder base, they have a heavy coverage and are best for these following skin types:
- Dry skin
- Normal skin
- Blemished or scared skin (for camouflage)
Mousse foundations provide light to medium coverage depending on application. They are best used for skin types:
- Normal skin
- Combination skin
Tinted foundation provides a light to medium coverage and is like moisturiser. It is suitable for all skin types as it can come in an oil free version.
