3 Boxing Legends First Time Losing!

There are not many fighters in boxing that can say they have never lost a fight; only certain fighters can stand up and say they have never lost a fight in there career. Fighters like Floyd Mayweather, Joe Calzaghe and Jimmy Barry. Right now, we have fighters like, Callum Smith, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury that are unbeaten, however they could still have time to lose a bout in the future, if they decide to continue boxing. There are some boxing legends that have lost their first ever match and not many fans thought they would lose like they did, here are 3 boxing legends first time losing!

Kell Brook!

Kell Brook was one of the best fighters in the welterweight division, securing the IBF world welterweight championship back in 2014, however he decided he wanted to change divisions and go up to fight Gennady Golovkin in the Middleweight division, 2 divisions higher than he was! GGG was the current unified middleweight champion of the world with 35 wins out of 35. Most fans thought Kell Brook would survive the rounds against GGG, however Gennady Golovkin managed to TKO him in the 5th round! Kell Brook didn’t seem to recover after that fight, losing once again in 2017!

Muhammad Ali!

 

Muhammad Ali is known as the best boxer in the world, his style of fighting and movement would make any fighter regret agreeing to fight him, however there was one man that managed to take down ” the Greatest” fighter of all time, Back in 1971, Ali went up against Joe Frazier in a fight that seemed to be a great contest. The bout went the distance and could have been the fight of the year, however Ali lost both of his heavyweight titles after losing to Joe Frazier via Points decision! A few years later he managed to beat Joe Frazier and regain his title back but still has that one loss to his name!

Mike Tyson!

Mike Tyson was a machine in the ring and could not be stopped, no one knew what to do to stop this man, however in 1990 against James Douglas, he managed to lose his first contest. This match up was for the IBF, WBC and WBA world heavyweight championship, many fans thought Mike Tyson had this match and thought he was going to win the contest, however James Douglas managed to knock him down and win the bout via KO. Mike ended up losing 6 fights overall in his career, but he was known as the best heavyweight at the time!
