The Monarch Collapse might not be so bad for venture capital firm Greybull Capital after all given that as a preferred creditor it will be first in line to be repaid its £150m for loans made to the airline when assets such as airport landing slots are sold. In fact, it may come out of it with a profit and Lord Myners, a Labour peer, called for an inquiry into whether this was an issue of “fraudulent preference”. It will be interesting to see where this goes especially given it will cost the taxpayer a fortune and Greybull are not new to this sort of thing.
