Over the weekend, Daniel Dubois went up against Joe Joyce to see if one of them had what it takes to go to the next stage of being a world-class heavyweight, however, the winner gets to fight Anthony Joshua and or Kubrat Pulve and or Tyson Fury for the belts.
Daniel Dubois was the favorite fighter when going into this fight. The one that was deemed to knock out the other fighter. Joe Joyce is a lot older than Daniel Dubois and with his age, came a lot of doubt. With the younger generations known to win more fights than the older generation, however, Joe Joyce displayed a masterclass performance and made Daniel Dubois question his boxing ability and if he was ready for the big league.
Throughout the fight, Joe Joyce seemed on top with Daniel Dubois not getting much out of him, however in the 10th round, it seemed like Dubois managed to lose the fight via quitting. No one is for sure if he did quit but looking at the way he went down, it seems like he did. Although Joe Joyce managed to make Dubois suffer a broken eye socket as he couldn’t see anything in that eye and now has his first loss due to it.
After this fight, Joe Joyce called out one of his old fights from his amateur days, Oleksandr Usyk. They fought in the first stages of there career and now Joe Joyce is trying to get the fight to happen again as he is in the top of the heavyweight division.
