Yorkshire Terriers have remained one of the most popular breeds not only in the UK but elsewhere in the world.  This is because they make wonderful companions and are ver adaptable and they happy fit into the owners lifestyle easily.

Yorkies are outgoing by nature and were originally bred in the UK in the 19th Century so the breed is sort of new to the dog world. Over the years this dog has found itself into many homes and heart in many people across the world.

Even with this breed having an affectionate nature, this dog isn’t good around small young children unless they have been their from a puppy.

This breed is the perfect choice for a first time owner as they are really intelligent and are always willing to please their owners. So these little dogs are very easy to train. However this dog is known for having a little attitude sometimes, but if handle right that should never be an issue. They will form a strong bonds with one person in a house hold which will make them become very protective of them.

This breed was originally bred to control vermin and that trait is deeply embed into them, this need to be known if you have or going to purchase this breed of dog. They are also extremely territorial and will defend what is theirs without any form of hesitation. These dogs are also prone to barking which should be corrected when the dogs are still young. But this breed also like the sound of its own voice, so sometimes they will bark for no reason.

Due to the dog size they can break their bones very easily so this breed is most suited for family with older children so playtime doesn’t get to rough for the dog.

Yorkshire Terrier

The average life span for this breed is 13 to 16 years this is when they are properly cared for and fed an appropriate good diet to suit their age. These dogs also need to be groomed regularly due to their coats.
