The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA), established in the USA in 1906, is currently the world’s largest registry of pedigreed cats and known as the most prestigious pedigreed cat registering association in North America. The organisation is headquartered in Alliance, Ohio. The Association is a not-for-profit organization, with the main objectives of the welfare of all cats and
the promotion and improvement of the CFA recognized breeds of cats. The CFA has over 67,000 registered breeders, over 2 million registered cats and over 600 affiliated clubs, which put on over 400 shows per year. It is generally recognised as the world’s largest registry of pedigreed cats.
