“Wings” Trailer

Quick Plot

In typical melodramatic style Jack Powell and David Armstrong are small American town men who are both smitten by town beauty the pretty Sylvia Lewis and to add to the plot the typical “girl next door” Mary Preston, is desperately in love with Jack. Against this Backdrop the two young men enlist as pilots with Jack thinking he and Sylvia are something of an item.

During basic training they are are billeted briefly with with Cadet White played by the great Gary Cooper but he  doesnt last long in the film, getting killed off almost immediately. They are soon bound for France and the once love rivals become good friends.

In a typical twist David gets shot down in the major battle but somehow manages to steal a German Bi-Plane before getting shot down and killed by his now best buddy Jack.

When the war ends Jack returns home full of remorse however he receives forgivness from Davids mother and then ends up falling for the “Girl Next Door” after all. Somewhat quaint.
