The Siberian Husky have originates from the Eastern Siberia, where were used as sleigh dogs. They are known for their good looks and stamina. These dogs are extremely popular as a companion dog and for a family pet. They are very alert and social dogs and are very athletic and much enjoys being around other Huskies due to their past and pack like mentality plus they don’t like being on their own. . However this dog breed is not advised for a first time dog owner, but in the right hands living with people who are used to this breed will make it much easier to train and handle. They also love the home environment making them the ideal family pet.
This breed is a medium dog size breed and the males weight and much taller than the females. These dogs are also known for looking wolf like in their appearance matching the colouring of wolf breed s and are very light on their feet. Also their breed are known for have beautiful bright blue eyes which is why many people fall in love with the breed.
These dogs adore human contact and thrive in family environments. These dogs like the sound of their own voice as they tend to howl more than bark so their very vocal dogs. However husky are advised not to be around smaller pets as they have an extremely strong prey drive. They are known for being intelligent and good at escaping by jumping over fences or digging under them so it best them be supervised while outside so you don’t lose them.
They are a high maintenance breed when it comes to looking after them and caring. This also applies to grooming them as they have quite long coats and are known for shedding a lot.
They are great around kids however must be supervised around toddlers to make sure that there interaction doesn’t resort to someone being hurt or scared. They have an average life span of 12 – 14 years when fed the correct food and care for properly.
