Dachshunds are very unique and active small dogs, that have made they way in to a number of homes in the UK and elsewhere in the world. These dogs thrive on keeping busy and love to do a lot of exercise with their owners. This breed originally came from Germany where they are used fir hunting rabbits, badgers and wounded game. However they are also happy enough to curl up with their owner on the couch at the end of a long day.
They are really small dogs that love to exercise they are known for their stubborn attuide at time yet loving personality.
These dogs are very intelligent and known how to understand commands easily however it best them being taught from their puppy stages. These dogs live on an average life span of 12 to 13 years when they are looked after right and given the appropriate food for their age.
