One of the best things to come out of Spain, this thrilling drama is set in Andalusia around 1830. Full of passion, desire, betrayal and death it remains a classic to this day.
Based on Prosper Merimées an 1845 novella about jealousy and passion itsself the inspired for the the famous George Bizet Opera. It starred Paco de Lucía as Paco and the sultry Laura del Sol as Carmen; it was directed by Carlos Saura. Carmen is the second part of Saura’s 1980s flamenco trilogy, preceded by Bodas de Sangre (Blood Wedding)and followed by El Amor Brujo (Love the Magician). Immensly enjoyable stand alone but better when viewed as part of the trilogy.

It is nice that they choosed extraordinarily beautiful people for the movie.. she is so perfect.. an he.. is awesome.. you can not understand why she could’t love him:D..anyway…nice story..
