Thus, keeping fish is not only a pleasant relaxing hobby but can be educational as well as offering a unique window into the complexities of underwater worlds that are usually hidden from human view.<\/p>\n When considering the ethical viewpoint well looked after fish will have life spans many years longer than they would in the wild, and in the case of freshwater species the vast majority (probably over 95%) are now bred in captivity, hence they don\u2019t contribute to pressures on wild stocks. So keeping them is no different from farming fish for the table, although tank kept species will have a much better time of it.<\/p>\n
