Week two is in the bag, and as in week one, the injuries caused as many headlines as the results with QBs are having a rough time of it. Last week the Jags lost big money Free agency signing Nick Foles<\/a>, and The Jets saw Sam Darnold succumb, and this week we lost Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees and spare a thought for the Jets who are down to their third-string after backup Trevor Siemian went out early against the Browns. Further, although we didn’t know it at the time we probably saw Eli Manning’s<\/a> last game for the Giants as they have now named Daniel Jones starter.<\/p>\n

Anyway, QB drama aside the games were quite entertaining even if so far this year defenses generally have been on top. Nine of the 16 games were one-score affairs and only the hapless Dolphins failed to at least have a go. They have obviously given up already and subsequently traded their best defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick for yet another first-round draft pick. Well, at least the fans will have something to keep them entertained in 2020.<\/p>\n

Spare a thought for the Saint’s – not only have they lost talisman QB Drew Brees, but they also ended up on the wrong end of another dodgy refereeing decision – against the Rams again! This time a fumble recovered for a TD was chalked off as the referees had blown the play dead. although many have argued it would have made no difference it would have put the Saints 10-3, and instead, they went in at the half trailing 6-3. This result could have huge significance come season end.<\/p>\n

Nine teams are 0-2 and statistically, their chances of making the postseason are slim. This group includes the Steelers & Panthers who some expected to be in the postseason mix. Both have tricky week three road trips and will know that 0-3 is not an option if they are going to be playing in January.<\/p>\n

So how did we do with our predictions last week?<\/h2>\n

Well following up our week one 12-3-1 was always going to be a tall order, but we are happy with our straight up 10-6<\/a> especially given the close nature of so many games. That leaves us 22-9-1 so far.<\/p>\n
