{"id":291,"date":"2019-02-03T19:07:12","date_gmt":"2019-02-03T19:07:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/nfl\/?p=291"},"modified":"2019-02-03T19:07:12","modified_gmt":"2019-02-03T19:07:12","slug":"julius-peppers-bids-farewell-to-the-nfl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/nfl\/julius-peppers-bids-farewell-to-the-nfl\/","title":{"rendered":"Julius Peppers Bids Farewell to the NFL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"background: white; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 15.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #48494a;\">After 17 successful seasons spent with the Carolina Panthers Chicago Bears &amp; Green Bay Packers Defensive End (and sometimes Line Backer), Julius Peppers has decided to retire from the NFL .\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 15.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #48494a;\">Drafted at No two overall in 2002 no 2 in 2002, Peppers now a veteran<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #48494a;\">\u00a039-year-old played his first 8 seasons with the Panthers including playing in the classic Super Bowl game against the Patriots\u00a0 and\u00a0reaching the NFC Championship in 2005.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 15.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #48494a;\">In 2010 he was somewhat surprisingly allowed to join the Bears as a Free Agent and his success continued here helping them to reach the NFC Championship game in his first season and he continued to be productive for his four-season tenure, after which he was again released.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 15.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #48494a;\">He then joined Chicago&#8217;s divisional rivals Green Bay for the 2014 season where he often played Line Backer.
