Fernando Torres has recently spoken out about his \u00a350 million move to Chelsea, and how things changed for him when Liverpool got new owners.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Liverpool goal machine.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Spaniard had an incredible spell at Liverpool, scoring 80+ goals in 142 games – which obviously made him a huge hit with fans.<\/p>\n

The chemistry between him and other Liverpool players of that time was perfect, he was apart of one of the best Liverpool squads in recent times. However, things started to change when Liverpool got some new owners, and revealed that lies and a lack of honesty was behind his departure from the club.<\/p>\n

Torres revealed: \u201cI was really happy at Liverpool, but if you remember at that time the club was about to be sold and it was a very difficult situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey sold all their best players, Javier Mascherano, Xabi Alonso, Rafa Benitez left, and they started bringing in young players.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo they needed maybe six, six, seven years to create a winning team again and I didn\u2019t have that time because I left my home in Atletico to win trophies.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately there were many lies by the owners that Liverpool had at that time, and in the end I needed to find my own way which was Chelsea, who I thought would be the club who would offer me the chance of winning trophies.\u201d<\/p>\n

He eventually left for Stamford bridge for the price of \u00a350 million, and, after his time there was up there, people were questioning whether he was worth the price Chelsea paid…<\/p>\n

He blames no one but himself for his poor performances however.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was maybe my fault for not being able to adapt quicker,\u201d he said, \u201cI had really good moments but I wasn\u2019t consistent, and if you aren\u2019t consistent at a big club like Chelsea then someone will come in and take your position.<\/p>\n

\u201cArriving at a club like that full of stars in the middle of the season, it was very difficult to fit in.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe I didn\u2019t have that partnership I had [at Liverpool] but I always said it was my fault, I was old enough to find solutions but I didn\u2019t do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy because I won the trophies I wanted, played really good football but I didn\u2019t do it every weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn any big club in the world if you don\u2019t perform every weekend then it is not enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite all the disappointment from his time at Chelsea, he still got what he wanted in the end. He won trophies! Exactly what he wanted to do when he set out to go there.
