There has been a bit of confusion regarding the face mask rules coming into effect tomorrow, but they seem to have been mostly cleared up now.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Masks will be mandatory in shops from Friday.<\/p><\/div>\n

Shoppers who refuse to wear masks will be at risk of being fined \u00a3100 starting from tomorrow, with those who have genuine medical reasons as exceptions. Supermarkets, high street shops, and Coffee shops and restaurants all fall into this category, yet they are all affected in different ways.<\/p>\n

Confusion arose once people started asking questions about why they\u2019d have to wear a face mask in Mcdonald\u2019s, but don\u2019t when they\u2019re sitting in a restaurant. We finally have the answers to those questions.<\/p>\n

In stores, you will have to wear face masks. With the exception of health issues that prevent you wearing one, or if you\u2019re dining in. It\u2019s impractical to wear a face covering when sitting down and eating, so those who are planning to sit down in a restaurant such as Mcdonalds, don\u2019t need to wear a face mask if they do so. However, those who are taking away food and drink from a business, and consuming it elsewhere, must wear a face mask or covering when they\u2019re inside. Whether that\u2019s waiting in the queue, or interacting with staff.<\/p>\n

The Northern Ireland Secretary expanded on these rules, saying: “Obviously if you\u2019re in a food outlet it\u2019s not practical to wear a face mask.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat changes from tomorrow is if you\u2019re in a retail environment, if you\u2019re in a shop or a supermarket, you should be wearing a face mask.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re going into Pret a Manger and you are eating in Pret a Manger, which in some of their stores you can, then obviously you wouldn\u2019t be wearing a face mask because you\u2019re eating.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s clear, good common sense that if you\u2019re going in to buy a takeaway, and leaving again, you\u2019re treating it like a shop – and you should be wearing a face mask.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ministers just urge to use common sense. If you don\u2019t need to take your mask off, then don\u2019t it\u2019s as simple as that. Reasonable excuses, as mentioned multiple time\u2019s, include eating in, so it\u2019d be very impractical to keep it on, or if you have an issue that prevents you wearing one, such as asthma.<\/p>\n

When dining in it\u2019s also handy to keep a mask on you, just in case a situation arises where you need to put it on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
