It then spread quickly to other parts of the pier, causing even more damage.<\/p>\n<p>Incident commander Mark Winder said: &#8220;Fortunately early firefighter action has extinguished the fire to the extent there is no visible flame.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Before Mark and his team arrived on the scene, locals said they could see the colours of the flames in the sky, and see the incident unfolding from very far away.
