This worried a lot of traders, and increased selling pressure amongst them.<\/p>\n<p>PlusToken, if you&#8217;re unaware, hit a high of near $350 before crashing, and is now considered one of the biggest scams and ponzi schemes ever, with many people involved with the scam seemingly &#8220;disappearing&#8221;. Whilst it was active, they received an estimated $3 billion in Bitcoin (BTC) and ETH from investors purchasing PlusToken coins.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Despite several arrests, activity has shown one or more individuals still have access to the scheme\u2019s wallets,&#8221; said news outlet CoinTelegraph.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15979\" style=\"width: 364px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15979\" class=\"wp-image-15979\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/12\/1459-1-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"354\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/12\/1459-1-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/12\/1459-1-600x375.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/12\/1459-1.jpg 736w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 354px) 100vw, 354px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15979\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u201cHeads up,\u201d a Twitter user said, in relation to the big move of assets.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Many people, and reports published suspect that scammers are using over the counter services to change the cryptocurrency into fiat currency, evidently driving the price down, as we&#8217;ve seem recently.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange Huobi\u2019s OTC service is suspected to be heavily used by scammers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, because it\u2019s not possible to distinguish between trades made by OTC brokers in possession of PlusToken funds and all other trades made on Huobi, we can\u2019t say for sure that PlusToken cashouts caused Bitcoin\u2019s price to drop,\u201d the reports stated.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers at Chainalysis concluded:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can say that those cashouts cause increased volatility in Bitcoin\u2019s price, and that they correlate significantly with Bitcoin price drops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A giant transaction associated with the PlusToken ponzi scheme worried traders this week, with $105 million worth of Etherium being transferred to an unknown wallet.
