It also weighs more than a huge 180kg and it is said that it will serve around 5,250 drams. The bottle, as mentioned before, was part of an online Christmas auction which ended at 20:00 on Sunday.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 532px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/660\/cpsprodpb\/E4BB\/production\/_110155585_66cd3cc3-6353-466f-81dd-8b8a2ab5fcb0.jpg\" alt=\"Giant whisky bottle\" width=\"522\" height=\"668\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The world&#8217;s biggest bottle of single malt holds the equivalent of 150 standard bottles<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The bottle was filled at the Tomintoul Distillery by a team of 14 people in August 2009. Since 2012 it has been on display at the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh when it was worth about \u00a35,000.<\/p>\n<p>Graham Crane, director and co-founder of auctioneers Just Whisky, said ahead of the sale: &#8220;Every now and then the opportunity to purchase a truly unique bottle of whisky occurs &#8211; this is one of those times.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re delighted to be auctioning this supersized bottle this month and hope that the lucky buyer has either an appropriate sized stocking for Christmas if it&#8217;s a gift, or is planning a memorable Hogmanay celebration to welcome in 2020.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Christmas auction for the worlds biggest bottle of single malt whiskey turned out to be a huge success, with the bottle being sold for \u00a315,000.
