BBC GoodFood.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"responsive-tabs__pane-title\"><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"method\">\n<ol class=\"method__list\">\n<li class=\"method__item\">Whizz the shallot, celery, parsley and most of the chickpeas to a\u00a0coarse paste. Don\u2019t overdo this, you want a texture slightly rougher than hummus. Mash the remaining chickpeas and stir them\u00a0into the paste with the garam masala, tomato pur\u00e9e, flour and polenta. Season well.<\/li>\n<li class=\"method__item\">Shape the mixture\u00a0into four patties. Let them\u00a0rest for at least 30 mins \u2013 you can leave them overnight in the fridge if you like. The polenta needs\u00a0time to absorb any\u00a0extra liquid.<\/li>\n<li class=\"method__item\">Heat a little oil in a non-stick frying pan and cook the patties\u00a0until they\u2019re brown and crisp on each side.\u00a0Try not to handle them too much as they\u2019ll be quite soft when warm.
