Many people enjoyed a return to their local this weekend.<\/p><\/div>\n

Pubs re opened 3 days ago, on July 4th, to many people\u2019s delight. However, it seems pubs are having to close again after customers are getting infected with the virus – the whole reason the pubs closed the first time.<\/p>\n

Three pubs so far have announced their closures on Facebook.<\/p>\n

The Fox and Hounds, in <\/span>Batley<\/span><\/span>, West Yorkshire, is one of the pubs that\u2019s having to close again, and promised to do comprehensive tests on staff and deep clean the premises.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On Facebook they wrote: “This morning I got a phone call off a customer which visited our pub on Saturday to say they’d tested positive for coronavirus.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn their visit they <\/span>were<\/span><\/span> unaware and had no symptoms but after seeing a post off another place they’d visited thought it was best to take a test to which come back positive.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Test and trace workers are now trying to get in contact with other people who were there. As they will be trying to do with the other pubs.<\/p>\n

The Lighthouse Kitchen and Carvery in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, has also had to close again. Announcing the closure on Facebook, they said: “<\/span><\/span>This isn’t the message we wanted to write so soon but The Lighthouse will be closed due to a customer testing positive to covid-19.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Village Home Pub in <\/span>Alverstoke in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Hampshire has also experienced cases too, and explained that some staff are now isolating.

Figures suggest around 15 million pints were poured at the weekend, that\u2019s a lot of pints – for a lot of people. Lets hope very few other pubs have to close again due to mini outbreaks, but with such an infectious virus like Covid-19, it\u2019s hard to imagine more won\u2019t.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
