They’re the perfect thing to just nibble on as a kid if you’ve got a few pence spare when you’re out with your friends. They’re not the healthiest though, and stats released recently show that big companies like this need to help change the health of children in the UK.

Stats show that around 40% of children in the most deprived areas of the UK were either overweight or obese, which is pretty concerning. This could be down to parents not looking after kids diets properly, or the simple, sad fact that it’s often cheaper to eat unhealthy. This reflects in the fact that only around 25% of children in the richer areas of the UK are overweight or obese, showing money is a factor here.

Its nice to see Cadbury taking these things into consideration, as the snacks are cheap and accessible, which may be playing a part in this health problem.

Mondelez, Cadbury’s parent company, has said they’re making the change in coming months.

Chocolate giant Cadbury is set to reduce the amount of calories in the chocolate bars Fudge, Chomp and the Curly Wurly.
