A group of 20 South African Teenagers have taken part in an impressive aviation achievement flying from South Africa to Egypt in a self-assembled Sling 4 Kit plane<\/a>. The 12,000 KM (7,455 mile) flight involved refuelling stops in Namibia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Zanzibar, Tanzania and Uganda before eventually reaching their destination in Cairo.<\/p>\n

The journey went with surprisingly few hitches with only a lack of fuel in Ethiopia and a problem with one of their avionic systems on the final leg causing concerns. The latter nearly got the pilots arrested as they were forced to land at a smaller regional Cairo airport rather than the international, where they were not expected.<\/p>\n

Still, all ended well and hopefully, they will achieve their goal of motivating young Africans across the continent.<\/p>\n
