The ill-fated Boeing’s 737 Max aircraft which has been grounded following two horrific crashes in a matter of months is unlikely to re-enter service before August, according to the head of the airline industry’s trade body, IATA. Director General Alexandre de Juniac said “we do not expect something before 10 or 12 weeks”, although he added a final decision was up to regulators.<\/p>\n

The aircraft was grounded in March following the Ethiopian Airlines accident in which 157 people were killed which happened only a few months after a Lion Air 737 Max crashed, claiming 189 lives.<\/p>\n

The tragedies occurred due to issues with a new computer controlled stability system known as MCAS<\/a> which appears to have been faulty. The issue was raised by pilots after the Ethiopian Airways crash but typical of big business Boeing<\/a> chose to put profits first and resisted a temporary grounding of the planes.<\/p>\n
