This is due to two pupils testing positive for the Coronavirus. The siblings who tested positive at the school in West Yorkshire seem to be in good health and have apparently fully recovered. But the parents of all children who came into contact with the pair have been told to self isolate with their families.<\/p>\n

Headteacher Cath Palmer told parents in a letter: \u2018I can confirm that, following the advice of Public Health England, I have contacted the parents of children currently attending the school to alert them to the fact that two relatives who have been attending the school have tested positive for COVID-19. We have followed all the correct procedures advised by Public Health England.\u2019<\/p>\n

We understand that these are concerning times for everyone but please be assured that we have worked very closely with Public Health England to ensure that all procedures have been followed; we have been guided by them throughout this period.\u201d<\/p>\n

The school is set to be closed for a deep clean this week, but according to the school pupils of key workers can still attend classes.<\/p>\n

Locals who have heard of the situation have become worried by it it seems. They\u2019ve commented on how this proves we aren\u2019t fully through the worst or the virus, and they\u2019re right in some ways. As important as it is to get children learning again and the economy started, health should come first. How many more time\u2019s is this going to happen in schools? Because if a single pupil tests positive, the school has to go through an ordeal of cleaning and contacting parents. Many say it\u2019d make more sense to just send all children back in September, or just send them all back now (because children are the most COVID-19 resistant group anyways).<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no one perfect answer or solution to the problem schools face at this time, but MPs and officials are being called upon by parents to make better plans and handle the situation more intelligently.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
