I think we\u2019re all ready for a holiday.

But with the 14 day quarantine rules that are coming in this month, holidays abroad aren\u2019t sounding as desirable. But, surprisingly, a survey of over 2000 people showed that the most desirable place for us brits to travel this year is actually… wait for it… the UK.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s not bad thinking to be honest! Our best bet at a decent holiday will probably be camping. And lucky for us the governments plans show that they are planning on reopening campsites and caravan sites around the July 4th date.<\/p>\n

Camping would be a good solution for those wanting to go on holiday but don\u2019t want to be quarantined.<\/p><\/div>\n

Work and Pensions Secretary Therese Coffey told Sky last month that: “Having come from Suffolk down to London, I know there are a lot of campsites that are very keen for people to come. Some of this is being carefully considered, recognising that we have reduced outdoor transmission risk, that things like camping may well become suitable.”<\/p>\n

She also mentioned that if the rate of infection continued to drop at a good rate, they\u2019ll likely be able to open in July.<\/p>\n

Obviously social distancing measures will be in place at the campsites, but they should be easy enough to follow, as such a place doesn\u2019t really require much close contact with people outside your household.<\/p>\n

The current guidelines don\u2019t allow you to stay overnight anywhere but your home, whether that\u2019s camping, or camping out in someone else\u2019s back garden.<\/p>\n

“The rules are, at the moment, you can’t stay somewhere else overnight. We now know we can travel, we can travel as far as we want to and we can even visit people in numbers no more than six. But you still have to return home at night. So that’s obviously a limitation at the moment for national holidays.” the transport minister said.<\/p>\n

But, as is everything at the moment, these sorts of luxuries will only be made available to people if certain targets are met concerning the rate of infection and the NHS. But, the way things are going, it looks like campsites should be open fairly soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
