Transport Secretary Chris Grayling should be bracing himself for more awkward questions in the coming weeks after it was announced that the Department for Transport’s (DfT) accounting office had informed the Government that there was a “high likelihood” of a Eurotunnel legal challenge over the now cancelled contracts awarded to Brittany Ferries, DFDS and Seaborne Freight.<\/p>\n

This little debacle has added \u00a333m to the Brexit bill through an out of court settlement and that’s before P&O has its say. With there being little chance of recouping the full amount from reselling the capacity pre-booked the final bill with P&O could end up being over \u00a3100m.<\/p>\n
