The extent of the damage may be irreversible for some firms. But on top of EasyJet and it\u2019s shareholders suffering due to the Coronavirus, there was a breach of 9 million different customer\u2019s information, in what is being called the companies biggest breach ever.<\/p>\n<p>Some critics are blaming executives for not putting enough time and money into the cyber security side of things, but one expert came to the defence of EasyJet, saying: &#8220;Very few private companies can defend against something like this.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The attack resulted in over 9 million people\u2019s details being accessed, but only 2200 people\u2019s financial information was breached, suggesting that money wasn\u2019t the motive here. The attackers wanted to know where people had been going and when. Sources also say that the criminals tries very hard to cover their tracks, which not many criminals do once they\u2019ve got what they want, in what is being described as \u201chighly sophisticated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Security experts believe this attack was sponsored by a country, and China, because of the level of sophistication and the circumstances surrounding it. And why would a country want to know the travel habits of 9 million people? It could be very useful information to investors, and in case you didn\u2019t know, China has just recently became a large shareholder in an airline company.<\/p>\n<p>Very few media outlets have addressed this, and claimed that the attackers wanted the financial information of the customers, but not everything is as it seems at the moment in the world, and the circumstances behind the attack suggest something more is going on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EasyJet has had a pretty crazy past few weeks.
