It has been two weeks since Libby Squire went missing from Hull, police now say she\u00a0“may have been harmed”. There is still no trace of what has happened or where she went after the CCTV and witnesses events.<\/p>\n

Humberside Police said they remained hopeful of finding Ms Squire but were keeping “an open mind”. They have released images of clothes very similar to what she was wearing the night she went missing.<\/p>\n

Det Supt Martin Smalley said: “Libby has been missing for 14 days now and we sadly have to consider she may have come to some harm.”<\/p>\n

Police say Libby had been wearing a black leather jacket, denim skirt and Van “Old Skool” trainers when she was last seen.<\/p>\n

Libby’s mum and her friends were able to help officers with some of the items she was wearing that night and where they were from. Some of the clothes were donated by TopShop.<\/p>\n

The last sighting of Libby is believed to be around 12.05am on Beverley Road at the junction with Haworth Street on Friday 1 February; this is where she was wearing\u00a0a black denim skirt and faux leather jacket as pictured and distinctive trainers.<\/p>\n

In the last two weeks underwater search teams, dog handling units, support officer,\u00a0assistance from Humberside Fire and Rescue, the Coastguard and from National Police Air Service are all part in the search.<\/p>\n

Detective Superintendent Martin Smalley, said<\/strong>: \u201cThe support and encouragement we have received is all very much appreciated and my thanks go out to everyone who has been involved and who has provided help or assistance.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last two weeks, our enquiries into Libby\u2019s disappearance have continued around the clock with detectives and officers working night and day to find her and to understand what happened that night.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we do continue to be hopeful and we will always keep an open mind, Libby has been missing for 14-days now and we sadly have to consider she may have come to some harm.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are continuing to support Libby\u2019s family through this incredibly difficult and distressing time. They are understandably distraught not knowing where their daughter and loved one is, and we will endeavour to give them the answers they desperately need.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore work is now taking place behind the scenes rather than in public view, however this does not mean the investigation is slowing or coming to an end, it is exactly the opposite and is very much active and ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are determined and we will do all we can to find Libby \u2013 she is our priority.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a live investigation and proceedings are active. One man has been arrested, questioned and remains under investigation while we further our enquiries.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I understand everyone will have questions in relation to the enquiries and searches we have carried out, at this moment in time we are not in a position where we can provide answers without jeopardising the investigation or any potential future prosecutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen and where we are able to, we will provide updates as we fully understand this case has captured the hearts of people not just in the city of Hull, but across the country, and that everyone wants to know where Libby is.<\/p>\n

  • 31 January<\/strong>: Libby\u00a0Squire\u00a0is believed to have been dropped off in a taxi from The Welly nightclub to her student home on Wellesley Avenue at about 23:30. She did not enter the house but her phone was found there. She was spotted on CCTV 10 minutes later near a bench on Beverley Road, by the junction with Haworth Street, where a motorist stopped to offer her help<\/li>\n
  • 1 February:<\/strong>\u00a0The philosophy student is believed to have remained in the area until about 00:09. She is later\u00a0reported missing and officers begin a search<\/li>\n
  • 4 February:\u00a0<\/strong>Her parents make an\u00a0emotional video appeal urging their daughter to \u201cget in touch\u201d<\/li>\n
  • 5 February:<\/strong>\u00a0About\u00a0200 students and staff gather in the rain at the University of Hull\u00a0to show solidarity and support for Ms Squire, her family and friends<\/li>\n
  • 6 February:\u00a0<\/strong>A 24-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of abduction<\/li>\n
  • 7 February:<\/strong>\u00a0A large screen displaying images of the student is driven around parts of Hull and officers hand out leaflets in the area where Ms Squire was last seen<\/li>\n
  • 8 February:<\/strong>\u00a0Humberside Police is granted more time to question the arrested man<\/li>\n
