UCF has now won 19 in a row thanks to their near-miraculous comeback against Memphis, however, this won’t count for much in the Bowl Committees eyes. Their destiny remains in other teams hands. Other games worth a mention include:

Racking them up

Utah State 59, UNLV 28 – After falling behind 7-0 early they responded with 6 unanswered TDs before the half to go in 42-7.

Is it Basketball?

This weeks award goes to Louisiana 66, New Mexico State 38 who managed to rack up 42 points between them in the 1st Quarter and it was 42-21 at the half.

Game of the day

Plenty to choose from but for the sheer edge of your seat, it had to be UCF’s dramatic 31-30 win at Memphis their long unbeaten run being on the line gave it a bit of extra spice. Memphis led 30-17 at halftime.

Performances of the day

Although most eyes were on the ranked team clashes we feel that Army’s dominant performance in routing San Jose State 52-3 is worth highlighting. Army ran for 341 yards had no turnovers and only gave up 15 yards in penalties. They also held San Jose to 36 yards rushing.

Looking Good.

UAB’s 42-0 win at Rice puts them top of C-USA West. Ok, Rice is not having a good season but a shutout on the road is some achievement.

Buffalo 24, Akron 6 – The Bulls are top of the MAC, Bowl eligible (they have only been to 3 before) and are 6-1 for the first time since 1959!
