The PAC 12 has not been in the playoffs for a while but on this showing, that could change. The night’s other big result saw Iowa win the local battle against Iowa State. The win came in no small part due to their defense which forced 4 turnovers. Iowa looks capable of staying in the top 10 and if they can get the offense clicking, who knows they might even find themselves in the playoff places.

At the bottom, Michigan entered the rankings thanks to a solid beat down on NIU. Watch out for their local Rivals Michigan State too! They had a solid win over Miami who have not surprisingly slid out of the rankings. Still another win next week should see them jump into the top 25 as well. That would add a bit of spice to their meeting on the 30th of October.

The only non-power conference team to join the rankings this week is independent BYU who seem to be doing fine in the post Zac Wilson era. Beating ASU is a very good result and with some other power Five games to come, they could surpass last seasons 16th place ranking in the CFP.

The

AP Top 25

1 Alabama
2 Georgia
3 Oklahoma
4 Oregon
5 Iowa
6 Clemson
7 Texas A&M
8 Cincinnati
9 Ohio State
10 Penn State
11 Florida
12 Notre Dame
13 UCLA
14 Iowa State
15 Virginia Tech
16 Coastal Carolina
17 Ole Miss
18 Wisconsin
19 Arizona State
20 Arkansas
21 North Carolina
22 Auburn
23 BYU
24 Miami
25 Michigan

Week Two’s Rankings

Week three saw some major changes in the AP Top 25 rankings with Oregon being the biggest mover thanks to their excellent win over Ohio State.
