Cigarettes are full of nasty chemicals and compounds that cause awful diseases.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ensure you\u2019re getting enough vitamin C.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Vitamin C is amazing for the immune system. In simple terms it helps keep cells healthy and plays huge roles in other bodily functions. It\u2019s perfect for your body in moderation, but too much can cause mild to serious gastrointestinal problems, and too little can lead to scurvy! A good obvious source is oranges, but you can also take supplements for vitamin C too. Make sure you take into account how much vitamin C you consume naturally in a day, as you might find you don\u2019t even need the supplements if you\u2019re already hitting targets! Eating healthily and balanced is important remember, you\u2019ll have to do this along side consuming appropriate amounts of vitamin C.<\/p>\n<p><em>Exercise regularly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Obviously regular exercise is good for body and mind, but it\u2019s also good for your immune system. Think about it like this, if your body is generally unhealthy, how do you expect your immune system to be? You wouldn\u2019t usually find a perfectly working engine in a rusty old car&#8230; so the same applies for your body!<\/p>\n<p><em>Get a good nights sleep!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s often easier said than done, but getting 7-8 regularly is so important. Your body and mental health, literally rely on sleep. For example, how many time\u2019s have you had a poor nights sleep and then later realised you\u2019ve got a cold? Too many probably. Your body was probably fighting that off really well, or doing a good job at not letting it in until you under-slept.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cut your finger nails.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A short, seemingly weird and simple one to end it off. This is more of a preventative measure, but under your finger nails is a disgusting place, an absolute breeding ground for germs.
