When the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds, frying until they&#8217;re almost black.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Turn the heat down to medium-low, then add the rest of the oil, followed by the onion, garlic and ginger.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cook until the onions have turned golden-brown and sweet.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the fenugreek, garam masala, turmeric and chilli powder (if using) and then the tomato pur\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Allow to cook for a couple of minutes on a high heat, making sure that the tomato pur\u00e9e is beginning to cook through a little.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Pour in 500ml\/18fl oz water.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the salt and sugar, then bring to the boil and remove from the heat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">For a silky smooth sauce, you can blend it using a stick blender or food processor for about a minute.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Stir in the cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Return the pan to the heat, add the peas and paneer, and simmer on medium for around 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Turn off the heat and gently stir in the butter.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and pomegranate seeds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Serve with rice and the\u00a0ginger beer onion bhajis and coriander and mint chutney\u00a0if you like.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Banner and Image Credit: BBC<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC Foods!
