{"id":2609,"date":"2023-02-23T10:30:43","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T10:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2609"},"modified":"2023-02-23T10:30:43","modified_gmt":"2023-02-23T10:30:43","slug":"easy-mushroom-stroganoff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/easy-mushroom-stroganoff\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy mushroom stroganoff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tbsp\u00a0olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1\u00a0onion, finely diced<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2\u00a0garlic\u00a0cloves, crushed<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">500g\/1lb 2oz\u00a0mushrooms\u00a0(such as white closed cup), cleaned and sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">\u00bd tsp\u00a0English mustard<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp\u00a0paprika<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">250ml\/9fl oz\u00a0vegetable stock, made from a stock cube<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">200g\/7oz\u00a0rice<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">200ml\/7fl oz\u00a0soured cream<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1\u00a0lemon, cut into six wedges<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salt and freshly ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Heat a frying pan or wide saucepan over a medium heat and add the oil.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Once hot, add the onion along with a pinch of salt and cook the onion gently for 7 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the garlic to the pan and continue to cook for 2 minutes, then add the mushrooms.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Continue to cook gently for a 6 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the mustard and paprika and mix well so that everything is coated.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the stock, stirring as you pour it. Simmer gently for 5 minutes while you cook the rice.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cook the rice according to the packet instructions in a separate saucepan until tender.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Once the rice is cooked, remove the mushrooms from the heat, stir in the soured cream along with the juice of two lemon wedges and mix it all together.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.
