{"id":2569,"date":"2023-02-09T10:03:05","date_gmt":"2023-02-09T10:03:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2569"},"modified":"2023-02-09T10:03:05","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T10:03:05","slug":"homemade-margherita-pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/homemade-margherita-pizza\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Homemade margherita pizza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-ingredients__sub-heading gel-great-primer-bold\">For the pizza dough<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">800g\/1lb 14oz &#8217;00&#8217; flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">200g\/7oz\u00a0semolina\u00a0flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp\u00a0salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tbsp\u00a0caster sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">14g\/\u00bdoz dried\u00a0yeast<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">4 tbsp extra virgin\u00a0olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">650ml\/1 pint 2fl oz water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-ingredients__sub-heading gel-great-primer-bold\">For the topping<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 x 400g\/14oz tins San Marzano\u00a0tomatoes\u00a0(or plum\u00a0tomatoes)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 large cow\u2019s milk\u00a0mozzarella\u00a0balls, grated<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">3 tbsp\u00a0olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">sea salt and freshly ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 large handful\u00a0basil\u00a0leaves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">To make the dough, place the flours, salt, sugar and yeast into a large bowl and stir.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Make a well in the centre of the flour and pour in the water, gradually mixing in the flour to form a soft dough.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Tip out and knead on an oiled work surface for about 10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Place it into a bowl, cover with cling film and refrigerate for 24 hours.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Preheat the oven to its highest temperature.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Place a heavy baking tray or pizza stone in the oven and allow it to heat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Remove the dough from the bowl and knead for a couple of minutes, then divide into four pieces.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Allow to rest for five minutes, then stretch each piece over your hands to form a disc about 5mm thick.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Place the circles of dough onto upturned floured baking trays or a pizza peel if you have one.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Blend the tinned tomatoes with a stick blender or a food processor.
