{"id":2533,"date":"2023-01-31T11:11:24","date_gmt":"2023-01-31T11:11:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2533"},"modified":"2023-01-31T11:11:24","modified_gmt":"2023-01-31T11:11:24","slug":"chickpea-and-chorizo-stew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/chickpea-and-chorizo-stew\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Chickpea and chorizo stew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tbsp sunflower or mild\u00a0olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 medium\u00a0onion, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2\u00a0garlic\u00a0cloves, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">75g\/2\u00bdoz soft cooking\u00a0chorizo<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp hot smoked\u00a0paprika<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 x 400g tin\u00a0chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">200ml\/7fl oz just-boiled water<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tbsp\u00a0tomato pur\u00e9e<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 x 400g tin\u00a0chickpeas<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">75g\/2\u00bdoz\u00a0curly kale, rinsed, shredded, tough stalks removed<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salt and freshly ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">crusty\u00a0bread, to serve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Heat the oil in a large saucepan over a medium heat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the onion and garlic and fry gently for 3 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">While the onion is cooking, cut the chorizo into roughly 1.5cm slices.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Stir the chorizo slices and hot smoked paprika into the onion and garlic mixture.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Fry for a further 2 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the tinned tomatoes, water and tomato pur\u00e9e to the pan and stir well.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Bring the mixture to the boil.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Drain the chickpeas in a sieve and rinse under cold water.
